Eastern Palace Darkness

a.k.a. Eyegore Key
Arrow (5.183)
Sword (5.550)

The default way to do this room involves walking around the right side of the Popos to trigger the Eyegore, then using an arrow to knock it to the left, collecting the key in mid-air on the way to the pot. Because there's no after-shot delay when using the bow, this is faster than using the hammer or a sword slash, both of which have delay after the hit. (Using an arrow also ensures that the knockback for the Eyegore will always be consistent)

Dash (4.883)
Hookshot (5.000)

With boots or the hookshot, you can speed up the second half of the above strat.

Blue Boom (4.483)
Red Boom (4.383)

With tempered or gold sword, the boots, and a boomerang, you can dash up the middle of the room and then do a dash to the left side of the room after doing a precise walk just above the right Eyegore, stopping to use the boomerang on the key. While rare, it is possible for bad Popo RNG to block the path of the boomerang for this strat.

This strategy can also be done using the hookshot, but ends up being slower than the Arrow + Dash strategy shown earlier.

In the dark, a consistent setup for lining up with the right-hand Eyegore is to walk up out of the doorway and fire an arrow into the north wall, then strafe right while holding B until the arrow is positioned halfway between the rupee and bomb digit counts at the top of the screen.

Important: Do not try this in the practice hack as the HUD spacing and layout are different!
